MBTI categorizes individual behavioral differences into four dimensions, including the direction of mental energy, the method of information gathering, the way of decision-making, and the orientation towards lifestyle.
Each dimension has two directions, representing different preference tendencies: Extroversion (E) vs. Introversion (I), Sensing (S) vs. Intuition (N), Feeling (F) vs. Thinking (T), and Judging (J) vs. Perceiving (P).
The combination of different preferences in these four dimensions forms 16 personality types. The popular MBTI 16 personality types are divided into four major categories: Analysts, Diplomats, Sentinels, and Explorers.
Why is MBTI so popular?
The first MBTI scale was published in 1942, and has been continuously revised and improved since then. MBTI only became popular in the 1980s. Until now, MBTI has once again set off a new wave of Internet craze.
Why is MBTI become so popular? It is generally believed that MBTI is easy to operate and spread through the dichotomous classification method. At the same time, MBTI does not use the results of the "questionnaire test" to draw conclusions about individuals, but gives the decision-making power to the person being evaluated, allowing everyone to find and determine their own personality type through the information they provide.
In the MBTI test results, other than showing the personality type, it also shows the percentage of each person on each option and the characteristics of the personality. People can use this as a coordinate to understand and analyze their own personality performance.
BUT...
Nowadays, people use MBTI as a label and judging, which may make things less interesting.
As the saying goes "Thousands of people have thousands of faces, and hundreds of people have hundreds of personalities." It is easy to take personality tests today, but inner exploration will never end.
